What is the Instant Four Bloods Screen?
Better2Know provides private STI testing across South Africa. We offer Instant screening at selected sexual health clinics, including the Instant Four Bloods Screen. This confidential testing option will detect four harmful blood borne STDs just 28 days after an incident of concern. This screen will provide quick and discreet testing for those who would like to receive their results on the same day as their test.
Which infections are tested for?
Our Instant Four Bloods Screen tests for:
- HIV I/II and the p24 antigen
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Syphilis
Additional testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea can also be combined with these tests. Simply notify your Better2Know advisor when booking your appointment.
What samples are required?
The Better2Know Instant Four Bloods Screen uses a single blood sample that will be taken from a small prick of your finger. The sample will detect HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and Syphilis infections.
How will I receive my results?
Your results will be ready less than 30 minutes after you are tested. Better2Know’s private STI clinic will give you a signed and completed copy of the pathology report analysis at your anonymous appointment.
What if I test positive for an STI?
If you test positive for any of the infections included in the Instant Four Bloods Screen, Better2Know will conduct confirmatory test at no extra cost. Our highly trained Patient Services team will arrange a private doctor’s consultation, so you can discuss your diagnosis in detail, or refer you to a specialised service who will advise on further treatment. You may also take your results to a doctor or sexual health provider of your preference.
